RANI’S* GARDEN: HOPE, HEALTH & SURVIVAL
Two-year-old Devi* and her parents Rani* and Praveen* live in a small rural community in northern Sri Lanka. Their house has no water or electricity and their straw roof leaks often, making it difficult to stay warm and dry during monsoon season.
Praveen works odd jobs to make ends meet, but economic uncertainty and a lack of steady income makes things difficult and puts Devi’s future at risk. Unable to afford meat and produce from the market, Rani began a garden with support from Save the Children. We provided seven different types of seeds, gardening tools and general information on self-sustenance during crises.
Thanks to her mother’s garden and generous supporters like you, Devi has access to the nutritious food she needs to grow up healthy and strong.
We’re proud to help empower women, children and families with the tools and resources they need to create better, brighter futures for themselves and their communities. And we’re endlessly grateful for supporters like you, who make this important work possible.
Your generosity is essential for our ability to continue supporting families like Devi’s. Please, make a donation today and contribute to our efforts to make a brighter future for children and families in need everywhere.
