Coffee With Your Congresswoman in Summerville!

Hello and happy Cinco de Mayo!

We’ve had a jam-packed week here in the Lowcountry - here’s what we’ve been up to!

Kicked off the week by visiting the Shifa Clinic. This clinic offers free services which provide compassionate and high-quality medical care to uninsured, low-income populations. The Shifa Clinic supports efforts toward reducing food insecurity regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity here in South Carolina.

We held Coffee With Your Congresswoman this week in Summerville - and WOW - standing room only! We had some top-notch coffee and even better conversations. Check out the photos below! Also, we hold events all over the Lowcountry when we aren’t in DC. Stay subscribed to our newsletter list and to our Eventbrite page here.

We had the opportunity to tour the Dorchester County Adult Education Center where we saw real change happening in our Lowcountry adults. This Center allows adults 17+ to finish their high school diploma and more. As someone who dropped out of high school, it is encouraging to see so many people having the courage to get their degrees and finish school. These resources were not available at the time - now these resources are readily available to our Lowcountry adults. If you or someone you know is interested in finishing a degree, you can click here to learn more.

Wednesday we stopped by BkeDSHop in Summerville to pick up some goodies for the Summerville Firefighters to celebrate International Firefighters Day on May 4. On International Firefighters Day, we pay tribute to all our firefighters past and present for their service and dedication to our communities here in the Lowcountry and across the nation.

Thursday was also National Day of Prayer. We need the presence of God more now than ever - and we need prayers for our nation. We find strength through God in prayer and meditation.

SC-01 high schoolers! As a reminder, the Congressional Art Competition is taking place and will close on May 8, 2023. Please note only electronic submissions will be accepted. Our office has received a tremendous response from students in the past and we anticipate receiving even more submissions this year. If your student is interested please look here.

We are always here to assist you with any issues or concerns. Please feel free to reach out to us.

It is an honor to serve each and every one of you.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Congresswoman Nancy Mace
