On *Monday [ [link removed] ],?*Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, First Lady Fran DeWine, Ohio Department of Transportation Director Jack Marchbanks, and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik unveiled the re-imagined Welcome Center on I-70 eastbound in Preble County and announced the plan to replace 33 rest area buildings over the next four years.

The Preble County Welcome Center, just inside Ohio?s western border, is part of the Governor?s vision to greatly improve the traveler experience for the thousands of visitors who stop at Ohio rest areas every day.

"Our rest stops give travelers, truck drivers, and families a safe place to rest, which can increase focus and safety when they get back on the road,? said Governor DeWine. "While they?re stretching their legs, we want to share Ohio?s amazing story, and tell them about our innovative Ohioans, beautiful natural resources, and exciting attractions. We want them to know Ohio is full of great opportunity!?

Governor Jon Husted kicked off In-Demand Jobs Week with the launch?of a new resource that provides information to students, parents, and teachers about the different career pathways available to high schoolers. The ?Find Your Career Pathway [ [link removed] ]? video aims to guide students in their educational journey to landing a successful career right here in Ohio.

?As I?ve traveled the state, I?ve heard from students, parents, and teachers that they wish a resource like what we are announcing today existed that lays out the options available for kids so they can learn a skill and earn college credits without racking up student loan debt,? said Lt. Governor Husted. ?Ohio?s on the rise. We are landing some of the largest economic development deals in history, and we need to have a prepared workforce. This resource presents options available for Ohio?s students so they can make the best decision for their future.?

Also on *Monday*, as a part of In-Demand Jobs week, Lt. Governor Husted traveled to?Trumbull County to tour the Building Trades Pre-Apprenticeship Program and the Advanced Manufacturing Makerspace at Brookfield Local Schools and participate in a roundtable discussion. ?



After visiting Brookfield Local Schools, he then traveled to?Cuyahoga County to tour Polaris Career Center?and participate in a student-led roundtable discussion. ??

Lastly, on *Monday*, Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted took part in a?ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of Adelphi Bank in Columbus. Adelphi is currently the only Black-owned bank in Ohio. The bank was awarded a $150,000 JobsOhio Inclusion Grant for this new location.?

LG Upper Valley Career Center

Also on *Tuesday*, Lt. Governor Husted made additional stops for the second day of In-Demand Jobs Week. First, he traveled to?Miami County to participate in a signing tour at Upper Valley Career Center where students signed on to a pre-apprenticeship program for the 2023-2024 school year.



Then, he traveled to Greene County?to visit Resonant Sciences, a research and development company. The company is an innovative defense contractor focused on aerospace manufacturing, integrated electronics, radars, and more.??

Governor DeWine at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce for an annoucement from Google

On *Wednesday*, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted joined representatives from Google to announce two new data centers in central Ohio to handle cloud storage, artificial intelligence, and more. This is in addition to the one that is already located in New Albany.??

Also on *Wednesday*,?Governor DeWine spoke at NAMI Ohio's 2023 Annual Meeting about his 2023 budget priorities, including strengthening the state?s mental health crisis response infrastructure and ensuring appropriate care is available to all Ohioans when and where they need it.

Also on *Wednesday*,?Lt. Governor Husted hosted the Governor?s Executive Workforce Board meeting at Scotts Miracle-Gro in Marysville, Ohio.

Also on *Wednesday*, Lt. Governor Husted visited Delaware County for the third day of In-Demand Jobs Week. The Delaware Area Career Center had their Signing Day where approximately 75 students signed on to their future career or future college.??

Also on *Wednesday*, Lt. Governor Husted was recognized by the Appalachian Children's Coalition for his commitment to protecting all of Ohio's children and his work to prepare them for the future.?

Also, on *Wednesday*,?Governor DeWine and the Ohio Traffic Safety Office announced that a new educational video aimed at teenage drivers has been released for National Youth Traffic Safety Month in May.

?Any time we can provide more educational resources for Ohio?s young drivers, it makes our roads safer for everyone,? said Governor DeWine. ?The safe habits they adopt now will increase the likelihood that they become safe drivers over their lifetimes.?

On *Thursday,*?Governor DeWine celebrated?Bird Ohio Day at Magee Marsh in Ottawa County by unveiling the new visitor center. Magee Marsh is world-renowned as one of the best places to see warblers.?

Also on *Thursday*, Lt. Governor Husted traveled to Washington and Jackson counties for the fourth day of In-Demand Jobs Week.?

In Washington County, he toured Micro Machine Works Inc. The company uses?TechCred [ [link removed] ] to upskill their employees and is one of the largest apprenticeship providers in the region.



In Jackson County, he toured?Bellisio Foods, Inc, which also uses TechCred to help their employees earn industry-recognized credentials.

On *Friday*, Lt. Governor Husted traveled to?Findlay to present the city with a commendation for being recognized by "Site Selection Magazine" as a "Top Micropolitan Area." This is Findlay's ninth consecutive year ranking as No. 1 in the nation.

Also, on *Friday*, Lt. Governor Husted?visited Pioneer Industrial Systems in Toledo, a company that designs and builds robotic and automation systems for high-risk jobs. During the visit, the group watched a demonstration of an autonomous crack-sealer and participated in a workforce roundtable.?
