You know Clarence and Ginni Thomas? He’s the conservative Supreme Court Justice who once wrote that the Court should reconsider its decisions ([link removed]) on same-sex marriage and contraception? She’s the conservative activist who once texted ([link removed]) White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows that “Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist in our History”? Yeah, that right-wing super villain power couple? Well, just when you thought their late night chats about conservative values and overturning election results couldn’t get any more dicey with his day job as Senior Associate Justice, it turns out that Republican billionaire and donor Harlan Crow has been secretly funding their lifestyle ([link removed]) .

We don’t mean that he just occasionally picks up that tab at Sweetgreen. No, Harlan pays for yachts, vacations, and the $6,000 a month tuition of their child’s boarding school. While flying with Harlan on his private jet to all-male retreats in California (cannot make that up), what do these two talk about? The weather? The latest episode of Succession? Who’s to say! But afterwards, Harlan goes and donates to the Republican Party and Clarence goes back to work and writes opinions that shape our nation’s future. That’s not ethically dubious at all!!

Data for Progress finds ([link removed]) 65 percent of voters believe Thomas’ decision to not disclose his boy's trips with Harlan is unethical. This includes 82 percent of Democrats, 65 percent of Independents, and 48 percent of Republicans.

Understandably, 64 percent of voters think undisclosed yacht trips and cute summer getaways to the Adirondacks with major Republican donors might qualify as grounds for an ethics investigation. This includes 85 percent of Democrats, 61 percent of Independents, and 47 percent of Republicans. In fact, 53 percent of voters think Justice Thomas should resign from the Supreme Court completely.

So Clarence, it seems voters are clearly not vibing with your secret Republican billionaire financial arrangement. You’re sitting on the Supreme Court, making decisions that impact people's lives and rights. And, to put in incredibly lightly, your opinions tend to have a conservative lean (read: incredibly conservative to the point where it’s like hey, that’s not even legally justifiable). This undisclosed financial friendship with Harlan Crow? Incredibly sus. And voters agree.

Here are some other highlights from DFP this week:

Sorry Ron, no one is jealous of you and you’re just not that popular ([link removed]) .

At one point, “Meatball Ron” DeSantis was considered the guy who could take on Trump. Now? He’s just a Florida Man who’s being sued by Disney and eats pudding with his hands ([link removed].) . Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Despite his lack of pudding etiquette, DeSantis and the Republican-controlled Florida Legislature have passed quite a lot of damaging bills. From banning abortions to allowing concealed carry without a permit, in just seven weeks Ron has managed to make the state more dangerous and take away Floridians' individual rights. Sounds like a great place to live! Said no one! In fact, residents like Dwayne Wade are fleeing the state ([link removed]) to protect themselves and their families in response to Florida’s anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.

Data for Progress finds ([link removed]) that Ron DeSantis’ agenda is losing its popularity contest. A majority of voters oppose making abortions illegal after six weeks of pregnancy, including 55 percent of Independent voters. Furthermore, only 25 percent of voters support allowing individuals to carry guns without a permit or training, including 18 percent of Democrats, 21 percent of Independents, and 38 percent of Republicans. Ron, why do people possibly need to carry around a gun that they’re untrained to use? We promise, the crocodile is going to win that battle whether they’re concealed carrying or not.

A majority of voters also oppose Ron’s education plan, which includes banning books and majors and minors on gender studies. It’s like his agenda was pulled straight out of Matilda. Girls shouldn’t read!! Less books, more guns! Sixty-seven percent of Democrats and 56 percent of Independents oppose mandating K-12 libraries review and remove all books that are flagged inappropriate. Furthermore, a plurality of voters oppose eliminating college diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and banning majors and minors in Critical Race Theory. Less than one-third of voters support banning college majors and minors in gender studies.

Here’s the situation Ron: the way you eat pudding is bizarre, you’re weirdly obsessed with Mickey Mouse, and your agenda just isn’t popular. Sorry, but voters don’t want to sit with you ([link removed]) .
