Last week, Senate Republicans blocked a bipartisan resolution to lift the arbitrary deadline for states to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.

Honestly John, I’m furious — but I’m not surprised.

This act of cowardice is par for the course in a GOP obsessed with clinging to power and leaving Americans to fend for themselves.

A bit of historical context here: the ERA, which would guarantee equal rights under the law regardless of sex, requires 38 states to ratify it. 168 other countries have a similar law.

There is no deadline in the Constitution, so getting rid of it should be a no-brainer.

Instead, the GOP blocked it.

The Republicans are the problem, John. The bigotry and misogyny are baked into their party’s platform, and they cannot be trusted to govern.
