John,
It’s been two weeks since Justin Trudeau announced he
was giving $13B to Volkswagen to help build an electric-vehicle
battery plant in southern Ontario.
$13 billion!!!
That’s half of Canada’s annual spending on defence,
for just ONE company!
The largest recipient of
corporate welfare in Canadian history, until now, was Bombardier. It “only” collected $4 billion – over a period of
50 years!
My position has always been clear: All the
dozens of programs that distribute subsidies to businesses must be
abolished.
It’s a complete waste of resources.
If a business needs taxpayers’ money to fund a project, it
means it’s not profitable, and resources would be more efficiently
used elsewhere.
If a project is profitable, then it doesn’t
need a subsidy, and we should tell lobbyists to take a hike.
You would think the official opposition in Parliament
would be up in arms after such an outrageous announcement.
But no. Not a word.
In the
conservative publication The Hub, editor-in-chief Stuart Thompson noted that the
opposition responded “with astonishing silence.”
Pierre
Poilievre is afraid to criticize it.
You see, it’s a bit
touchy, because the riding where that plant will be built is
represented by a Conservative MP...
Poilievre is
willing to betray 28 million Canadian taxpayers so he won’t lose any
votes in that riding.
Should we be surprised? Just
like the Liberals, the fake Conservatives only care about buying votes
with your money!
All the establishment parties like corporate
welfare.
We need another voice in Ottawa that cares
about the well-being of all Canadians.
John, you can
make a sound investment today that will be profitable for all of
Canada.
Invest in real fiscal conservatism with a $13
donation to the PPC!
Thank you,
-Max
