John,
The purpose of the State of the Union address is to talk about the most important issues facing our nation, and the President’s proposed solutions to those problems. In the past year, we’ve seen the climate crisis evolve in ways we could never have imagined. Yet, President Trump failed to mention even one word about our changing climate in his address to us yesterday. Call on Congress to fight back on climate now!
Ignoring one of the most important issues facing our country — and the world — is fundamentally flawed. Without urgent action from our nation’s leaders, we undoubtedly face a future of even more rising sea levels, habitat extinction, and extreme weather akin to the rampant wildfires in California and Australia.
We need Congress to take swift action in full-force to mitigate the worst effects of climate change. Send your message to Congress now: Take a stand on climate before it’s too late!
The battle against climate change is too important to lose. In the face of these growing threats, we are working together with dedicated Trust for Public Land supporters and activists like you across the nation to create parks and green spaces for people, and to help mitigate the effects of climate change.
Your help is urgently needed. We must take every step we can today to preserve the future of our environment, starting with adopting solutions in Congress to the climate catastrophe. Urge your members of Congress to act on climate today so we can protect land and people for generations to come.
Thank you,
Jordan Schreiber
Director of Advocacy, The Trust for Public Land
