We don’t need troops at the border with Mexico—we need an overhauled immigration system.

friend—I’m tired of being disappointed in our elected officials.

Next week, President Biden is sending 1,500 troops to the Mexican border ahead of an “expected migrant surge” after the end of covid restrictions on May 11th.

While Biden promised to stop building a physical wall, he said nothing about a wall of troops. And he didn’t fully keep that promise about stopping construction on Trump’s wall, either.

I’m not shy in my criticism of President Biden—in fact, this campaign is endorsed by Marianne Williamson, his primary challenger from the left.

I condemn the border wall, condemn migrant detention centers, and support abolishing ICE.

I haven’t been making many pleas for fundraising lately, but we need to step up our game this month.

April was slow and we fell behind our goals, but if everyone reading this email pitched in just $5 right now we would be back on pace to compete with our corporate- and charter-school funded opponents.

I don’t take any corporate or special interest PAC money, so I’ll be responsible to the people once in office.

From neighborhood to nation, leading from the bottom up, I will not disappoint.

In solidarity,

Maebe
