Friend, We need to talk about retirement. Fewer and fewer Americans have access to pensions, which makes Social Security a critical program for current and even future retirees. Nearly 40 percent of seniors rely on Social Security for a majority of their income, and 1 in 7 seniors rely on Social Security for more than 90 percent of their income. With the average Social Security benefit totaling only $1,688 per month, we need to do more to ensure that benefits keep pace with the rising cost of living. Take Action: Tell Congress to expand Social Security and help seniors retire with dignity.

I’m a strong supporter of the Social Security Expansion Act, which would increase benefits by $2,400 a year, strengthen cost-of-living adjustments, extend the solvency of Social Security for 75 years by requiring the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes, and make other improvements to this vital program.
With nearly half of Americans 55 and older having no retirement savings, we need bold leadership on Social Security – not just to protect it, but to expand it. Let’s stop playing defense and fight for America’s seniors so they can retire with dignity. Sign if you agree: Congress must expand Social Security. Onward, Ro |
