John, we need
Medicare for All.

America is touted as the richest country in the world — but every day we
hear horror stories of families and working people who have to decide
between paying back predatory medical bills or putting food on the table.

As a progressive leader, it’s my job to advocate for the people and answer
the call for solutions that meet the urgency of our collective needs. This
is not the time for compromise when so many hardworking people do not have
the access or ability to seek universal health care.

[ [link removed] ]If you stand with me today, please chip in $3 or whatever
you’re able to give so we cement health care as a human right in Congress.
We’ll need as much support as possible to show our opposition that we
won’t back down until we see the progress we deserve.

Today’s for-profit health care system is ineffective, inefficient, and
produces drastically worse health outcomes than other countries.
Communities full of families struggling with medical debt should be able
to rely on their government and feel supported by our policies. We need
universal care — everybody in, nobody out.

The U.S. spends about 50% more per person on health care than any other
nation, yet the life expectancy in the U.S. is lower than other nations.
With nearly 30 million people uninsured, at least 40 million people left
unable to afford their co-pays and deductibles, and rising infant and
maternal mortality rates — it’s clear we’re facing a true endemic in our
health care system.

It’s time for a health care system that is focused on patients, not
profits. We must recognize health care as a human right — not a privilege
for the wealthy — and it’s crucial we ensure that everyone in our country
has comprehensive, quality health care no matter their income, race,
gender, or zip code.

[ [link removed] ]The fight to bring Medicare for All and true universal health care to
this country will take all of us. If you’re ready to join this fight,
please contribute $3 to our movement today to build our
momentum and deliver Medicare for All.

Together,

Pramila Jayapal
