Happy Friday, John!
It's been a couple weeks since our daughter's wedding. I think for every father there is a “gotcha” moment on your daughter's special day…the day that matters more than anything, trust me! But for me, that moment happened the night before the wedding where we had invited all of our guests for a welcome party.

On the eve of wedded bliss, the wedding party decided to give their speeches. One by one the bridesmaids and groomsmen gave testament to Rena and Josh individually and as a couple. But to hear the words from Rena’s childhood and college friends were the best words I’ve heard spoken. As a father, to hear those closest to her speak about her gentleness, compassion, her work ethic, and the sweet memories solidified everything I believed my daughter to be. And the groomsmen returned the favor in kind about Josh.

So, there were two takeaways from this moment. The first was when my buddies came over to me following the speeches and said, “I can’t believe nobody got roasted tonight! I mean if that were any of us, we would have brought out the sledgehammer!!” And stories ensued, not to be repeated here!
The second takeaway for me were the words spoken that night about Rena mirrored those character traits that I find in Nikki. They share those core values which make them strong independent women and leaders in their professions. I give all the credit to Nikki as a mother and role model she has been for Rena. Oh, Rena’s humor and quick wit, that was all me!
