The search for Ireland’s next UN Youth Delegates
NYCI is now calling on young people aged 18 to 25 from across Ireland to apply to become Ireland’s UN Youth Delegate for 2023/2024.

NYCI announced as Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Champions for 2023-2024
NYCI has been appointed as one of the 26 organisations chosen by the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan TD, as leaders in driving forward Ireland’s progress towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

** Youth Work Ireland: Irish Youth Music Awards
------------------------------------------------------------

The Irish Youth Music Awards (IYMAs) is an all island youth sector wide music educational programme supporting teenagers aged twelve to nineteen (Over two thirds of those engaged in the programme are from within CSO/ POBAL deprivation scoring areas) in youth clubs and projects across the entire island of Ireland.

This Earth Day 2023 join ECO-UNESCO in the #EarthDay2EarthDay challenge and make 12 ECO-impacts -positive and sustainable environmental changes over the coming year.

VSI: Volunteering Opportunities in Europe

VSI has just launched their 2023 programme of International Volunteer Projects, which include:
• Working at a centre for refugees in Belgium
• Organic farming in Italy
• Working at an intercultural building and upcycling project in Switzerland
• Gardening at a peace centre in Northern Ireland

** Children and Young People Citizen Assembly on Biodiversity

In October 2022, Ireland held its first Children and Young People’s Assembly on Biodiversity Loss. The report from this event has been published and is ready for download.

Irish Youth Foundation: Funding Opportunity

The Vhi Health & Wellbeing Fund 2023 will offer grants to projects and programmes that seek to strengthen resilience in young people and help them manage anxiety, with an emphasis on early intervention and prevention. The fund will offer grants of up to €10,000, and will close on Friday 12th May at 5pm.

ESRI: Employment Opportunities for Young People

On Thursday 11 May, the ESRI will host an Open Event for a collaborative European project that researchers within the Institute are involved in, Cowork4YOUTH. This project focuses on young people not in employment, education or training (NEETs), specifically those aged 15-29.

The Children’s Rights Alliance: Summer Food Poverty Initiative

The Children’s Rights Alliance has received funding from Enterprise Rent a Car to run a food poverty initiative which will fund four member organisations around Ireland to address holiday hunger by distributing food hampers/meals to families for four weeks during the summer when schools are closed. The deadline for application is 1pm, Friday 5 May 2023.

AMDAF Youth Summit: Framework for Youth Mental Health 2023

AMDAF will be holding their annual Youth Summit holding in Tuam on June 10. The event features keynote addresses, panel discussions, one-on-one with a psychotherapist, games and entertainment, among other interesting programmes, focussing on Mental Health issues, and support.

Irish Youth Foundation: Coca-Cola Thank You Fund

A fund of €200,000 is available to community-based projects and programmes across Ireland and Northern Ireland that are focused on empowering young people aged 16-25 year under the focus areas of Empowering Learning, Empowering Sustainable Development, and Empowering Inclusion.
