A Message From Our Spokesperson

Dear Friend,

An old friend of mine came from a country where abortion is deeply embedded in the culture -  where the issue is rarely talked about and where no one questions the status quo.

One of the things my friend used to stress to me was the importance of keeping the issue alive on the airwaves and at the centre of public discourse. If we ensured this, he used to say, there would always be a way back for the pro-life cause.

I recalled his sincere and sound advice when checking through the media coverage of the last fortnight and the publicity last Monday’s March for Life in Dublin received - an event attended by thousands of people from all across Ireland.

Thousands of people like YOU - standing strong and resolute and speaking up for unborn babies, their mothers and for doctors' freedom of conscience.

The success of the march (and the significant amount of media coverage of it) has sent a very strong message to politicians that we are energised, focussed and united as a movement and will strongly oppose any widening of the abortion law and will greatly intensify our push for positive supports for women in unplanned pregnancy.

Right now our office staff and volunteers are packing letters to send to TDs and Senators with photos from the March for Life, explaining the extreme recommendations of the abortion review and reminding them that the pro-life movement will ensure that abortion becomes a major election issue.

You rarely see fundraising appeals from us via email so when we do send them, it's because we urgently need YOUR help.

Our policy, grassroots, social media and office volunteers and staff are working flat out to ensure that we keep the right-to-life issue firmly on the political agenda.

The work we are doing is critically important and needs to keep going.

Can you assist us with a donation today?

DONATE NOW

With the shocking recommendations contained in the three year review of the abortion law, it's a crucial time for us to keep the foot on the pedal and intensify our work not the opposite.

We need to engage the public even more about how extreme the review report is and show our elected representatives that through our efforts more and more people will ‘think pro-life’ before voting at the next election.

This review is deeply flawed and heavily biased in favour of expanding abortion even further. We have already seen the huge increase of abortions in Ireland last year with 8,500 lives being ended here last year, that's one baby aborted for every seven babies being born.

The fact that the Government’s review recommends allowing abortion up to birth (effectively on request) but says nothing about positive alternatives to abortion, is a message that the public needs to hear repeatedly through our efforts.

Events like the March for Life, our Grassroots Education Campaign, the Future Leaders’ Programme and our Political Advancement Programme are up and running projects of the Pro Life Campaign which are on course to make a real difference.

They are all part of an integrated plan to keep the pro-life message alive and ultimately towards restoring a culture of life in Ireland.

We need YOUR help to achieve that!

DONATE NOW

The Pro Life Campaign completely relies on donations from pro-life supporters from across the country to continue our work.  Unlike pro-abortion campaigning groups like the National Women’s Council who get funding of nearly 1 million euros a year from the Irish taxpayer, our work relies solely on the generosity of committed pro-life supporters.

Thank you for responding to this appeal and please rest assured that any donations you entrust in us will be spent wisely in pursuit of our shared mission of once again protecting unborn children in our laws.

A special thanks if you are already donating to us via post, direct debit donation or otherwise. We couldn't continue our work without you.
