John,
There may not have been elections where you live, but yesterday was
the first time where people in Great Britain were forced to show photo
ID before being allowed to vote.
Already there have been reports of voters being refused this
essential, basic democratic right for the flimsiest reasons. We
already know there will likely be a General Election within the next
year and this will be repeated on a massive scale.
- Were you refused your right to vote?
- Did you see someone else who was?
- Were any of your friends or family denied their right to
vote?
- Are you in a part of the UK that didn't have elections yesterday
but are still furious about the whole thing and worried about how you
might be affected in future?
You are not alone. Join us and tell the government what you
think!
Introducing voter ID was a naked attempt by the Government to
disenfranchise people who are less likely to vote Conservative.
It’s part of their broader effort to close down all ways they can
be held to account, on the streets, in the media and in this case, at
the ballot box.
We continue to campaign against this government and their
authoritarian agenda.
Best wishes,
Cary Mitchell
