Dear John,
New bill attacks Boundary Waters wildlife . Rep. Stauber introduced a resolution that would take a once-thriving species of bats off the endangered species list. These winged mammals are critical to the Boundary Waters ecosystem for controlling forest pests, pollination, and maintaining the health of our forests. Help protect this Boundary Waters bat!. This week U.S. Representative Stauber hosted a field hearing in which he, other House Members, and witnesses advocated for toxic sulfide-ore mining directly adjacent to and upstream from the Boundary Waters. This field hearing was on the heels of Rep. Stauber’s introduction of a House Concurrent Resolution of disapproval [[link removed]] in late April. Stauber seeks to undo the U.S. Department of the Interior’s decision to ban sulfide-ore copper mining in the watershed of the Boundary Waters.
That’s why legislation to permanently protect this Wilderness forever is critical. Take Action >> [[link removed]]
