Russia Accuses U.S.

Russia blamed the United States on Thursday for the apparent drone attack on the Kremlin, doubling down on accusing Washington of “direct involvement” in the war in Ukraine, as the NYT reports.

Sudan Sanctions

President Biden signed an executive order enabling the U.S. to impose new sanctions on individuals and entities related to the conflict in Sudan, as the WSJ reports.

ECB Slows Pace of Rate Hikes But Vows More

The European Central Bank slowed the pace of its interest rate increases Thursday, stepping back like the U.S. Federal Reserve from a string of jumbo hikes aimed at snuffing out inflation. But the ECB also said it was “not pausing” even as its efforts have worked by making mortgages and business loans harder to get, as the AP reports.
