North Carolina League of Conservation Voters

John,

Last Friday was a dark day for democracy in North Carolina. The NC Supreme Court ruled against us in Harper v. Hall – we argued extreme partisan gerrymandering wrongly silenced the voice of the people, but the court sided with politicians who want to choose their own voters. They also announced two other anti-democracy rulings the same day.

But we will not give up; we need you to stand up for democracy with us as we continue to fight for the rights of all North Carolinians to have their voice heard. And we need to celebrate our allies in this fight, especially when we can't celebrate the wins.

On Wednesday, May 24th, 2023 from 5:30 pm to 8:00pm we will host the 2023 Green Tie Awards Ceremony at the beautiful Merrimon-Wynne House at 500 North Blount St. in Raleigh, NC.

This event honors North Carolina’s Green Champions: legislators and others, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that all North Carolinians have access to clean water, clean air, clean energy, and a sustainably healthy environment– all of which relies on a healthy democracy where our voices can be heard.

We invite you, as a leader in the community, to show your support for these efforts and these people by becoming a 2023 Sponsor of the Green Tie Awards Ceremony.

Inspire others through your support for a healthier environment, a stronger economy, and a more inclusive democracy. (And see who has already pledged their support! ==> [link removed])

Who will we honor this year? Who will our special guests be? Stay tuned to find out. But you can go ahead and reserve your tickets today, John!
