👋My name is Yassin and I’m one of the contestants on this week’s episode of United We Dream’s immigrant cook-off series, No Borders, Just Flavors! Ever since I heard about the opportunity to be on this show, my brother & both of my grandmas in Egypt have been super enthusiastic about supporting me doing something I’m passionate about - cooking.

Since migrating to Austin, TX with my family from Cairo, I’ve loved tasting the similarities between flavor profiles & spices common in Mexican cuisine and in the Egyptian dishes we prepared back home. 🚚 Lately, it’s been a dream of mine to open up an Egyptian/TexMex fusion food truck!

I had such an incredible experience filming this show while being surrounded by such a diverse immigrant led cast & crew. 🧡 I felt so at home & familiar with everyone in a way I haven't felt a lot since leaving Egypt.
