Hey John,

Allow me to introduce myself — my name is Joshua Cole, and in addition to being a HUGE Star Wars fan, I'm running for Virginia's House District 65.

Raised in the Fredericksburg areas, I know not only the challenges that face Fredericksburg and Stafford County but, more importantly, what it means to serve my community.

I'm a pastor and a former state representative. I made history in 2019 when I became the youngest and first Black person elected from the Fredericksburg region to represent in the General Assembly.

Now I'm running again to continue to build on my proven track record in delivering for Virginians — and I'm honored that Sister District has my back as we fight to win this seat and take back the state House from GOP extremists.

Before I share more about myself and why I'm running again, I need to ask: Will you consider making a contribution to our campaign today to bring our people-centered agenda to the state House?

In 2021, Democrats narrowly lost the House by only a handful of votes. As a result, the VA House passed legislation aimed at discriminating against our LGBTQ+ community members, rolling back reproductive rights and increasing access to guns.

Now, our movement has the chance to take back the House and take real, bold action to address the concerns of Virginians.

This will be a competitive race as District 65 is a critical open swing district, but I know we can win this with your support. If elected, I will work to:

• Block any attempt to curb reproductive rights and freedoms.
• Ensure affordable housing for all Virginians.
• Support our public educators and schools.

These are just some of the issues that have driven our people-powered movement and I look forward to continuing to build on this momentum.
