Week of Action Going Strong

Our 5 Year Bar Week of Action is in full swing! Thanks to the many PIF partners who have sent messages to Congress, done educational events in their communities, participated in our Tweetchat, and taken other actions. There’s still time to take action this week! Our 5 Year Bar and LIFT the BAR Act toolkits offer ideas and resources you can use to raise your voice. Next week, we’ll invite partners to share their week of action activities – we’re excited to hear about all the amazing work you’ve done!

Impact: Tweetchat reaches 400,000+

We appreciate the many partners who joined our May 2 tweetchat – especially cohosts First Focus Campaign for Children, National Immigration Law Center, National Low Income Housing Coalition, Coalition on Human Needs, Feeding America Action, and AAPCHO. Coordinated tweets reached more than 419,000 Twitter accounts during the event, netting about 2 million impressions for our message.

ICYMI: 5 Year Bar webinar

More than 100 people joined last week’s webinar providing an overview of the 5 Year Bar and explaining why Congress must act to repeal it. We appreciate the leadership of partners who presented on the webinar, including CLASP, ACCESS, MomsRising/Mamas Con Poder, and AAPCHO.
