John, we have an update on our petition to President Biden that we need to share with you.
A few weeks back we asked you to take action and sign on to our urgent petition calling on President Biden to withdraw his approval for the Alaska LNG pipeline. The support we’ve received from our grassroots movement has been overwhelming and proves just how important this moment is.

P.S. We’ve included our original message below, so you can see why this campaign is so important to our climate movement.
John -
Barely one month after President Biden approved the Willow Oil Drilling Project, he’s gone ahead and approved another massive fossil fuel project in Alaska. This latest project is known as the Alaska LNG export project, which would transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) through an 800-mile pipeline across the state.
This project is a direct betrayal by President Biden to the frontline and Indigenous communities who will be most impacted by this pipeline – as well as a betrayal of his own climate promises.
John, the Alaska LNG project would emit 10 times the amount of greenhouse gases as the Willow Project and lock us into at least 30 more years of planet-warming emissions. For the sake of our planet, we can’t allow this project to move forward.
John, proponents may try to confuse us by calling it “natural gas,” but this fossil fuel is not harmless and it is NOT a solution.
It’s just another form of dirty energy with the potential to cause hundreds of billions of dollars in climate damage and generate billions of metric tons of emissions that our planet simply cannot afford. The science is clear:
Our planet needs a rapid phase-out of ALL fossil fuels and this can only be driven by stopping all new fossil fuel infrastructure and moving forward with the transition to real, justly sourced, justly implemented, clean energy.
Lastly, this project, and the many others that the Biden Administration has either endorsed or refused to stop, completely undermine any progress they have made to promote renewable energy and electric vehicles. If Biden wants to call himself a climate president, he has to actually lead like one.
Thank you for standing with us in this fight,
Team 350
