Hi there, friend! 👋
I’m Jacob Fette, the new finance director for Eric Sorensen’s 2024 re-election campaign.
I’m ready to help raise the money we’ll need to win this competitive district once again. But today, I wanted to share a story about how I got to know Eric and why I’m so thrilled to be on this team.
When I visited Eric in Illinois, we went out for a beer on the first night of my trip. I was expecting an interview. Instead, he mostly asked thoughtful questions about my life. It wasn’t only about my resume, he wanted to get to know me as a person.
What struck me most was hearing Eric talk about his experience as a meteorologist. Being on TV was a great way to give his audience helpful information, but it was a lot of “one-way” conversation. He rarely got to hear back from his viewers.
That’s what Erics loves about serving in Congress -- the two-way communication. He gets to interact daily with his constituents, and he’s bringing a level of empathy to Congress that I think we can use more of in today’s political arena.
I’m proud to be on this team and hope to hit the ground running with a strong fundraising week. A new Republican opponent just announced a bid against Eric, and the race for IL-17 is sure to be as close (if not closer) than it was in 2022. In short, the stakes are high.
Will you help me get off to a strong start in my new role by chipping in to Eric’s re-election campaign? Anything helps, but $3 from you will go a long way.
