I’m officially running for reelection to the U.S. Senate next year.

We’ve delivered lasting results for New Mexico and our country. But our work is far from over. Together, we can create a future that is as boundless as our skies, as majestic as our mesas, and as welcoming as our communities.

Growing up, my dad was a union lineman with the local utility company, and my mom was a seamstress and an automobile tire factory worker. My parents taught me the value of hard work and the importance of going all in for the fights that matter most.

That’s the mindset I’ve taken into my education, my career as a mechanical engineer, and my time in public office. 

Last year, against the odds, I went all in to broker a historic gun safety bill – the first one to pass Congress in decades. That’s just the start of the work we must do to protect our children from gun violence, the leading cause of death for children under 18.

I went all in to honor our promises to our veterans, expanding healthcare benefits for the many people exposed to toxic burn pits during their service.

After the wildfires that devastated New Mexico, I went all in to secure $4 billion to help make our communities whole again and protect us against future fires.

I went all in to lower the cost of prescription drugs, electrify our households, repair New Mexico’s roads and bridges, and supply our homes with clean drinking water.

And now I’m all in to win reelection in New Mexico, defend our Democratic Senate Majority, and hold the White House – because it’s time to take on the challenges that have been written off for too long.

From accelerating our transition to clean energy and protecting our public lands and waters, to building on our historic investment in early childhood education in New Mexico and beyond – I’m ready to continue this fight.

But I can't do it alone. Democrats need to defend 23 seats next year, including mine in New Mexico. If we lose our Senate Majority, you can bet that Republicans will deliver on the threats they are making in the House – from passing a national abortion ban to cutting critical programs like Medicare and Social Security.
