Doctors should not face criminal penalties, loss of licensure, or loss of insurance coverage for providing abortion care.
john,

Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, women in states with restrictive abortion bans have been forced to flee to other states to receive the reproductive care they need. Now, state legislatures across the country are using every tactic possible to restrict access to abortion – including targeting doctors.

That's why Kim and Senator Patty Murray just re-introduced the Let Doctors Provide Reproductive Health Care Act.

Axios: Sen. Patty Murray and Rep. Kim Schrier are introducing legislation to prevent some states' restrictive abortion laws from being used against doctors who provide abortions in states where the procedure is legal. Federal legislation aims to protect abortion doctors in blue states. The idea is to make sure anti-abortion laws in states like Idaho and Texas can't reach past those states' borders.

This legislation would protect doctors in blue states from legal action if they perform abortions on people who travel from a state where abortion is illegal – and help ensure these doctors can continue providing this important care without fear of jail time or lawsuits.

As a doctor and congresswoman, Kim knows doctors should not face criminal penalties, loss of licensure, or loss of insurance coverage for providing abortion care. Do you agree?

If you agree anti-abortion policies should not reach states like Washington, add your name now to show your support for Kim's bill →

Thanks,

Team Schrier
