John, we’ve got
to talk about what’s going on in Congress.

Mainstream media outlets have been buzzing with stories about the House
GOP passing a major debt ceiling bill. For the most part, they’ve kept
their coverage limited to sweeping statements about massive spending cuts
— with some even calling it a ‘win for McCarthy’... seriously.^1

What they fail to mention is exactly how this bill would impact millions
of Americans — slashing spending on everything from food to healthcare for
veterans. Luckily, that’s where we come in.

[ [link removed] ]We’ll show you the compelling stories and infographics our reporters
are publishing to ensure readers have all the facts they need as we head
into the 2024 elections. But first, will you chip in $5 so
they can keep up this important work?

Unlike the mainstream media, our reporters are getting right to the point
with their coverage. They’re publishing articles like these that focused
on the hard-hitting facts and figures of this bill — specifically looking
at how these proposed spending cuts would play out in their state.

They’re also taking to social media to post eye-catching infographics that
will reach readers (and voters) across their states. Actions like this are
essential to holding the elected officials who voted to pass this
outrageous bill accountable.

This is just a glimpse at some of the incredible work our dedicated local
news reporters are doing everyday to fill in the gaps left by the
mainstream media and restore Americans’ trust in the news. But for them to
keep going, we need your help.

journalists and open even more newsrooms across the country, which is why
we’re asking: will you chip in $5 now?
