Friend,

It’s time for the House and Senate to rise above partisan politics and focus on what really matters - moving forward together to get work done. Thankfully, a bipartisan group in Congress is already working to accomplish this.

At the State of the Union last night, you might have noticed members of Congress from both parties sitting side-by-side, wearing purple scarves and ties. This symbolic display by the Problem Solvers Caucus, a group consisting of Democrats and Republicans, conveys an important message: it's time for Congress to stop the fighting and start work together for all Americans.

History shows us that it is possible to move past impeachment. After President Bill Clinton’s acquittal in 1999, he worked with the Republican-controlled Congress to pass key pieces of legislation. From bills protecting a patient’s right to privacy to expanding federal investment in after-school education programs, Democrats and Republicans worked together to put country over party.

Even amid scandals and a presidential campaign, Congress has a lengthy to-do list that will require them to pass bipartisan legislation to address pressing issues like keeping the government open, conserving water, feeding children, and much more.

Do you think members of Congress should focus on working together - Democrats and Republicans, House and Senate - to solve problems for the American people?
