Do you find the life of our Savior being distorted as a homosexual funny?

I don’t. But, after 1.5 million signatures, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings is still laughing.

Join the next phase of our campaign. Unsubscribe from Netflix until they remove "The First Temptation of Christ" from their platform.

CANCEL NETFLIX

Dear John,

While Hollywood circles may find it absolutely hilarious to poke fun at our savior Jesus Christ...

You and I don’t!

And, around the rest of the United States and most parts of the world, Jesus is not the butt of anyone’s jokes either.

That became very clear to us when over 1.5 million people rushed to our platform to sign our petition demanding Netflix remove "The First Temptation of Christ” (created by the insulting Porta Dos Fundos).

The petition created quite a stir. You helped us stand toe to toe against this media giant who featured a blasphemous film depicting Jesus Christ as a homosexual, His disciples are alcoholics and unruly, and the Blessed Mother as a sexual deviant.

But we aren’t done yet! So we move to the next phase of this campaign.

We owe it to each and every person who signed the petition to not stop until we achieve this campaign’s only goal -- to win!

Please, help us in the next phase of the campaign and do the following:

  • If you are not a Netflix subscriber, please forward this email to your friends and family so that they may consider unsubscribing from Netflix (until they remove “The First Temptation of Christ” from their platform).
  • If you’re finding it difficult to cancel your Netflix subscription online, please call Netflix at (866) 579-7172.

Once you have cancelled your subscription, click here to tell us that you unsubscribed (so that we may communicate to Netflix and the press) and to learn more about our boycott!

If you had a chance to read our prior email announcing the signature delivery of over 1.5 million signatures to Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, you might recall that our petition is only the first step of this campaign.

We cannot let Netflix and Hollywood off the hook. So, let’s face some hard facts on what we need to do next.

Netflix only cares about their bottom line. So, when large numbers of subscribers “Turn Off Netflix” that’s when they’ll really start to care.

Our petition, with over 1.5 million signatures, achieved many positive things. It was the largest petition is CitizenGO history, a judge in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil ordered Netflix to take the film down before his ruling was overturned by a higher court, high profile political leaders and influencers promoted it on social media platforms, and our protest was even the talk of Netflix’s office in strategy meetings and around the watercooler.

But the one thing that it failed to achieve is the only one that really matters -- Netflix removing "The First Temptation of Christ" on its platform.

This is where we’re really counting on you in the next steps of this campaign:

  • If you are not a Netflix subscriber, please forward this email to your friends and family so that they may consider unsubscribing from Netflix (until they remove “The First Temptation of Christ” from their platform).
  • If you’re finding it difficult to cancel your Netflix subscription online, please call Netflix at (866) 579-7172.

Once you have cancelled your subscription, click here to tell us that you unsubscribed (so that we may communicate to Netflix and the press).

Please don’t be naive enough to think that you won’t make a difference by canceling Netflix.

Netflix runs off of a membership-driven business model. They need to listen to customers and potential future customers when they speak.

In 2019, Netflix reported shattering losses of $17 billion in overall value, which caused its stock to dive more than 10%. In fact, this was the first time in 8 years that Netflix reported negative membership totals.

Plus, you’re not alone. You’ll be joined by an army of CitizenGOers, who share your frustration with Netflix.

We need your help. Join the next phase of our campaign. Cancel your Netflix account until they remove "The First Temptation of Christ" from their platform.

Thank you,

Gregory Mertz and the entire CitizenGO Team

P.S. In this next phase of our campaign, we’re counting on you to increase pressure on Netflix like never before. Hitting a big corporation like Netflix in their bank account is truly the only way to get their attention. Cancel your Netflix account and make sure your friends and family know how too.
