Six months ago, I announced that I would seek our party's nomination, in the hope of serving a third and final term as Mayor. My message was simple: while the pandemic may have thrown us off course, we couldn't afford to deny Indianapolis the progress it deserves.
Yesterday, the voters of Marion County sent a message. They're ready to roll up their sleeves and work with me to ensure our city's brightest days are still ahead of us.

As we look towards the fall, it's crystal clear that there are two competing visions for Indianapolis on the ballot in November. One vision wants you to believe that the best way forward is to go back to the "good ol' days."
Well, I disagree. I'm proud of the diverse, vibrant, inclusive city that we call home. We are all stronger because of it.
One vision wants to believe the way to move forward is with more divisiveness, and more Trumpian partisan politics inside the City-County Building.
Well, I disagree, because over my past eight years as Mayor, I've been proud to bring Democrats and Republicans together to balance budgets, hire more public safety officers, and pass a 5-year $1 billion infrastructure plan.
One vision believes that when it comes to fighting the scourge of gun violence in our country, the first call you make is to the NRA.
Well, I disagree, because I'm proud that our 3-year $150 million anti-violence initiative is powered by community leaders -- not special interest groups -- and that we're working to keep guns out of the wrong hands, not flooding our streets with more.
One vision, apparently believes the best way to win in November is by spending millions of dollars on negative ads attacking our city and tearing us down.
Well, I disagree, because I'm proud of Indianapolis and its people. We have always been better served by leaders who inspire the best in us, rather than those who only see the worst.
The choice facing voters this November is stark, and the stakes are sky high.
Indianapolis is a city on the move and we're not turning around. We've got work to do and we are ready to do it. I'm confident in Indianapolis, but we need you with us. Please join our campaign today >> [[link removed]]
