Yesterday marked a tough anniversary for reproductive rights in America — one year since the Supreme Court's draft decision overturning Roe v. Wade went public. That was the night it became crystal clear, for anyone still doubting, that a radical anti-choice Court was poised to throw out decades of legal precedence and, along with it, the freedom of half the American population.
Our fight changed that night. Not our commitment to electing Democratic pro-choice women — that's stronger than ever. But the urgency of our task exploded overnight.

John, today marks one year since the news went public that the Supreme Court was poised to overturn Roe v. Wade and end the constitutional right to abortion in America.
Today, millions of Americans are less free. They have been denied the care they need, forced to cross state lines just to be seen, and even arrested for making health care decisions for themselves.
Republicans at the state and local level and in Congress continue to ignore their constituents, the American people, the vast majority of whom are pro-choice, in order to keep stripping away fundamental rights.
Standing up and speaking out to elect the women who can stop these Republicans in their tracks is what we do at EMILYs List, and we need you. Will you add your name now to demand that Congress restore the right to abortion nationwide?
There are now 15 states where nearly all abortion is illegal. Idaho went further and made it illegal for minors to travel across state lines for abortion care. In just the past month, a federal judge in Texas attempted to overturn FDA approval of medication abortion, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a six-week abortion ban into law in Florida, and North Dakota banned nearly all abortion.
Make no mistake: The GOP will not stop until abortion rights are ripped away from every single one of us.
