It’s not complicated, folks. Medical decisions should be made between a patient and their doctor. Full stop.
But the attacks on reproductive rights just keep on coming. Last month, a federal judge in Texas severely restricted access to abortion medication — thankfully, the Supreme Court issued a last-minute stay to protect medication-based abortions for the time being, but this fight isn’t over yet. And here in Wisconsin, a case is being heard in Dane County tomorrow about our state’s restrictive abortion law from 1849.
I’m fighting my heart out to pass my bill, the Women’s Health Protection Act, to finally protect the right to safe and legal abortions under federal law — because we can’t keep risking our access to reproductive care. I reintroduced the bill recently, and I’m leading the charge to get this critical legislation across the finish line and onto President Biden’s desk.
Last year, every single Senate Republican voted to block this bill. Well, if McConnell and Trump could eliminate the filibuster to put three Supreme Court justices on the bench, then we should do the same to pass the WHPA and protect reproductive rights for millions of Americans – no matter what conservative judges and far-right legislators decide.
Every person deserves the right to make their own health care decisions, without interference from anti-choice politicians. If you agree, add your name to my petition calling on the Senate to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act quickly.
Thanks for signing on, folks. No matter how difficult the battle may be, I’ll never stop fighting to protect reproductive freedom.
