You probably hear me or my team say “grassroots” quite often, and I wanted to take a second and explain what exactly that means, along with answering a few other common questions we get! Here we go:

What does grassroots mean?

Grassroots is a word we use to describe small-dollar donors – folks who pitch in $5, $10, or $25 to support a cause, and in this case, my campaign.

What is a grassroots team and what makes it special?

When my team or I refer to the people like you who read these emails as our grassroots team, we mean you’re the ones who power our campaign! We’re proud to say our average campaign donation is $26.43, because that means we’re earning the support of everyday Arizonans chipping in $10 or $20 at a time, not the ultra-rich.

Why do you send fundraising emails right now, when it isn’t election season?

To put it simply, campaigns don’t happen overnight. They take years of community organizing, strategizing, and so much more to become what they are by November of an election year.

That’s why your support right now is so crucial, because you’re literally helping us build the foundation of our next winning campaign.
