john,

This Monday marked May Day, the day we honor workers and their contributions to society all over the world. There is dignity in all work, and I’m a proud supporter of collective bargaining rights.

When workers join together, they are often better able to secure livable wages, a safe work environment, and quality benefits for families.

But we can’t honor the contributions of working people without acknowledging the challenges that so many workers face, from low wages to inadequate working conditions, to union-busting tactics that discourage workers from organizing.

That’s why I co-sponsored the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act , comprehensive labor legislation to protect workers’ right to stand together and bargain for fairer wages, better benefits, and safer workplaces.

Will you sign my petition to demand Congress pass the PRO Act and stand up for workers? It’s time that we empower workers and ensure their voices are heard. [[link removed]]

In Minnesota and across the country, workers are organizing for better working conditions and unions. Fast food workers are demanding $15 an hour and a union. Starbucks workers are fighting for their collective bargaining rights. On May Day just two days ago, the Writer’s Guild of America voted to go on strike for better pay.

Workers are fighting bravely for their rights, and I will continue to do everything in my power to support this movement. Last month, during a Senate hearing, I spoke to the extreme power imbalance between Starbucks’ CEO Howard Schultz and Starbucks’ employees, and called him out for giving their unionized employees fewer benefits.

This fight is happening in workplaces across the country right now , so we need to make our voices heard in support of workers fighting for their rights and their dignity.

Join me in supporting the PRO Act by adding your name to this petition today, and help us build a brighter future for workers across the country >> [[link removed]]

Thank you for your support.

— Tina
