On April 28, North Carolina’s right-wing Supreme Court paved the way for Republican legislators to gerrymander the state’s congressional map—scrapping a previous ruling prior to the court’s conservative takeover declaring gerrymandering illegal.
This is shocking, infuriating, and unacceptable.
Partisan gerrymandering is an assault on our democracy. It allows elected officials to pick their voters, when it should be the other way around.
Republicans are working overtime to dismantle our democracy. Far-right politicians have enabled judicial extremists to interpret the Constitution as they see fit.
We need to fight back with all we’ve got, by helping elect Democrats in 2024 who will enact fair redistricting efforts that truly represent the will of the people. Together, we can, and will, move our democracy forward.
