Record numbers of workers are organizing their workplaces, demanding thriving wages, and a seat at the table. Employers are more frequently than not responding with retaliation every step of the way – even closing entire stores and warehouses to avoid the rise of organized workers.
Luckily, there is a unique tool to support workers during a crisis. The Department of Labor (DOL) can give workers access to Dislocated Worker Grants, which can provide financial support to workers who are fired in retaliation for organizing.
Even as workers continue to negotiate and win contract after contract, corporations like Amazon use outdated labor laws in an attempt to squash organizing and fire workers.
We must stand with workers who are bravely taking on greedy bosses and fighting for long-term, transformational change. Take action today!
