Patriot,

Here we go again.

With the United States set to default on our national debt as
soon as June 1, House Republicans passed a debt ceiling bill that
would have required modest (otherwise known as "insignificant")
cuts to spending.

The Republicans' proposal, which they call the "Limit, Save, Grow
Act," would lift the debt ceiling until April 2024 but return
spending to 2022 levels. The Democrats, of course, don't want to
cut one dime.

Now we hear conflicting reports about the "negotiations" about to
take place, with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority
Leader Mitch McConnell meeting at the White House next week.

At the same time, President Joe Biden's press secretary said
there will be no negotiations on the debt ceiling.

If history is any indication, it'll be another show of
"negotiations" with weak-kneed Republicans, and there will be no
spending cuts.

But if that doesn't work, Democrats have a backup plan: they've
been plotting for months to use a little-known maneuver called a
"discharge petition" to force the House to pass a debt-ceiling
hike with no conditions.

The scheme, however, would require a majority of House members to
get on board - i.e., every Democrat plus any five Republicans.

Could five Republicans (out of 222) betray their party and the
fiscal restraint they claim to have to pass this debt ceiling
deal?

It certainly doesn't sound far-fetched.

Call your U.S. Representative at (202) 224-3121 and tell him or
her "DO NOT COMPROMISE on the debt ceiling! No increase without
serious spending cuts!

It only takes a moment to leave a simple message:

Hi, this is [your name] from [your city.] I'm calling to demand
the congressman to REJECT any deal to raise the debt ceiling that
does not include meaningful, substantial spending cuts. Our
country is bankrupt, and our economy is bleeding just from the
interest payments on the national debt. We need to get spending
under control. Do not accept any demands from the Biden
administration to raise the debt ceiling unless there are
significant spending cuts. And absolutely, do not support any
discharge petition that would advance a bill to raise the debt
ceiling without conditions. Thank you.

You and I MUST continue to keep up the pressure on our lawmakers.

Tell your congressman right now: No debt ceiling deal without
reining in the out-of-control spending!

And if you can, please chip in a generous contribution to
continue to defend our prosperity.

P.S. The Biden regime is scrambling to raise the debt ceiling and
is preparing to concede nothing to Republicans, who need to hold
strong.
