announced this morning that he’s running for the U.S. Senate in Texas. To
take on Ted Cruz.

The race is on to beat Cruz once and for all. And I couldn’t be more
excited to support Colin in these efforts.

Colin would make a fantastic U.S. Senator,
John. Colin is a former Texas
high school and college football star, and former NFL linebacker, which
means he knows how to take and give a hit. After football, he went to law
school to help his community.

In his time in Congress, he’s fought hard to achieve progress for working
families in Texas’ 32nd District. He’s also a fierce defender of our
democracy and our freedoms, which is the opposite of the guy he’s taking
on.

Look, you and I both know how bad Ted Cruz is — he’s really, really bad.

His egregious policy stances. His sycophancy towards Donald Trump. His
refusal to stand up to the gun lobby after horrific acts of gun violence
in Texas. His trip to Cancún while millions of his own constituents were
freezing through a devastating winter storm.

I could go on and on, and on, but there are more productive things to do.
Like supporting Colin Allred on Day One of his campaign. That’s what I’m
doing. And what I hope you’ll do.

Last time Ted Cruz was on the ballot, he won by less than 3 points.

He’s beatable,
John. Especially if we show
our early support for Colin’s campaign.

Wouldn’t it be great to beat Cruz once and for all and elect someone who
stands up for the values we believe in instead?
