Hey John,
If you haven’t seen me in your inbox before, I’m Holly! I’m the Community Manager at Run for Something. My role is to support the growth of community leaders at Run for Something, including folks who are thinking of running for office.
As an immigrant and Asian American woman, as well as in my work in community organizing and politics, I’ve seen firsthand how having young, progressive people of color in public office can improve our communities, inspire others, and create transformative policies that are for us and by us. That’s why I’m
so excited about our event tonight:
I'm here to invite any and all young Asian American progressives to join us tonight for See Yourself Running: The Realities of Running as an Asian American tonight at 8 p.m. EDT!
Joining us tonight are all-star Asian American Run for Something alums who were once in your shoes: Hawaii State Representative Adrian Tam and Nevada State Assemblywoman Cecelia González. They’ll share advice, talk about issues that Asian American candidates face on the campaign trail, and answer any questions you have about running.
This event is all about demystifying the campaign process and giving you the tools you need to see yourself in elected office.
So whether you're ready to run today or just want to know what it's like to run for state or local office, you don't want to miss this. It's totally FREE and happening tonight at 8 p.m. EDT.
See you there,
Holly Lim
