President Trump just gave his State of the Union address. While he continued to push for his divisive and reckless agenda, one thing was clearer than ever -- 2020 is a defining moment for our nation, and we must take back the White House and the Senate in November.
From cruel, anti-immigrant policies to attacks on families’ health care and more, this President and his Republican enablers are turning their backs on our nation’s values and threatening the futures of hardworking families in Illinois and across the country. We need to stand together and send a clear message by soundly defeating them and their dangerous agenda at the ballot box.
Despite their claims, President Trump and the GOP aren’t “making America great” -- far from it. While President Trump advocates for reckless policies and tarnishes our nation’s reputation on the world stage, Mitch McConnell has turned the Senate into a legislative graveyard that does nothing but confirm radical, right-wing judges to lifetime appointments to the bench.
The American people deserve a President and a Senate on their side, fighting to raise the minimum wage, secure our elections, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and move forward with real solutions to the climate crisis. And if we stand together, we can make it happen.
