Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day, team!

As the son of two public school teachers, I am deeply and personally grateful for the work that our educators put in every single day.

Not only have they taken on the awesome responsibility of educating our nation's next generation of leaders, but they have also played an integral role in supporting our students through many of the challenges they've faced over the past few years.

From weathering the COVID-19 pandemic to dealing with politicians seeking to politicize the classroom, there's no question that American educators have stepped up in ways beyond what is already expected of them (which is a lot). That's why today, especially, I want to uplift our educators and thank them for their hard work.

I remain incredibly proud of what we've been able to accomplish in Congress to support our educators — from leading 100+ members in calling for American leadership to support global education, to securing over $12.5 million for rural schools in Washington state. But I know our work is far from over.

Look, I have always believed that education is the doorway to economic opportunity. And by empowering and supporting our teachers, we can set up our kids for future success. That's why I'll never stop fighting for our teachers in Congress.
