Just weeks after NC House Republicans introduced a near-total abortion ban bill in our state – and mere hours after similar bans failed to pass in Nebraska and South Carolina – Republicans in our state are at it again.

This time, NC House and Senate Republicans plan to “compromise” with a 12-week abortion ban, in the hopes of sliding past the will of the voters.

Let’s be clear: Since Roe v. Wade was overturned last summer, North Carolinians and Americans everywhere have made it clear that they do not support abortion bans. But Republicans never learn.

This is a serious assault on our reproductive freedoms, and could spell doom for so many women, doctors, and members of our community — not to mention, set a dangerous precedent for other states.
