Here are some updates from today and yesterday.

The Texas Senate passed a bill that would give the secretary of state the authority to order a new election under certain circumstances in counties with at least 2.7 million people. Only Harris County, home to Houston, reaches that population threshold. The bill now heads to the Texas House.

Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb (R) enacted a law that will add new ID requirements for mail-in ballot applications and ban election officials from automatically sending mail-in ballot applications to voters.

An Ohio House committee advanced a resolution to raise the threshold to pass citizen-led constitutional amendments from 50% to 60% of the vote. This would make it more difficult for voters to amend the Ohio Constitution. The resolution now heads to another House committee.

Several voting rights groups filed a lawsuit arguing that Louisiana's voter registration policy for individuals with a prior felony conviction violates the National Voter Registration Act and the 14th Amendment.
