It's Transit Equity Day! Transit Events - Join us next Tuesday
Transit Equity Day In honor of Rosa Parks, February 4 has been designated Transit Equity Day. Thanks to the leadership of Labor Network for Sustainability, the movement for equitable transit - from fares to service to accessibility - is growing across the country. Albuquerque is offering free transit for the day, and it looks like Portland might follow suit next year. Advocates are celebrating, rallying, and reaching out to riders and decision-makers in Boston, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Washinton D.C., Atlanta, San Francisco, and more, to talk about the importance of transit equity. Look up #TransitEquityDay on your favorite social media platform, and enjoy all the awesome stories as the movement for transit equity grows! Here in San Francisco, we need frequent, reliable public transit service to and from all neighborhoods. The 29 Sunset and the T Third serve some of the most transit-poor communities in San Francisco and, as we hear from riders, are infrequent, unreliable and often overcrowded. That is why we’re committed to improvements on both lines in the coming year.
