After Tennessee lawmakers Justin Jones and Justin Pearson peacefully protested for gun control legislation, the far-right supermajority of Tennessee Republicans voted to EXPEL them from the state legislature.

 

Now, Reps. Jones and Pearson have been reinstated to the Tennessee House – but the actions of Tennessee Republicans have sounded the alarms nationwide to the rise of far-right extremism in our government.

Republicans in Tennessee and across the country are attempting to silence dissenting voices and consolidate power, threatening the very foundations of our democracy.

 

We cannot let this dangerous trend continue unchecked. That's why we're calling on the Department of Justice to investigate the expulsion of these lawmakers and hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
