Hi John, it's Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal.

I wanted to check in today to personally share some exciting news with
you: I am proud to announce that I am endorsing my good friend Barbara Lee
for Senate.

Congresswoman Barbara Lee is a progressive champion you can count on to
fight for our values and get things done. And I know that in my heart,
because I’ve been honored to see Barbara in action.

Barbara is a fearless leader of progressive efforts to fight income
inequality and poverty. I’ve seen her stand up, time and again to ensure
that the underrepresented have a voice in the halls of Congress. Now more
than ever, our country needs bold, progressive solutions to the problems
we’re facing — and we know Barbara will deliver those solutions in the
Senate.

[ [link removed] ]John, please
stand with me in support of Barbara Lee’s candidacy for U.S. Senate and
make a split contribution to our campaigns today. We need your support to
make sure our democracy mirrors the true reality of our communities.

This fight is personal to Barbara. From her segregated home town to the
halls of Congress, she has never stopped fighting for what’s right. She’s
lived through the challenges and issues that many of our communities still
face today — and that’s what makes her such a valuable and fierce advocate
for progressive change.

Barbara was once a single mother on public assistance, who couldn’t afford
childcare so she had to bring her children to class with her to keep
working towards higher education and set herself and her family up for
success. She then escaped a violent marriage and went on to author
California’s first Violence Against Women Act.

She knows what it’s like to stand in solidarity and be the only “no'' vote
against the open-ended authorization that led to our costly, unjust
forever wars overseas. And her experience with a back-alley abortion as a
young woman led her to become a fierce defender of abortion rights.

Whether she’s leading the charge to protect a woman’s right to choose,
fighting to lift people out of poverty, recommitting herself to the fight
for civil rights, voting rights, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights and more —
Barbara is not afraid to stand on the side of justice.

[ [link removed] ]Let’s continue paving the way for a multi-racial, multi-generational
coalition together. Please chip in today to support our two campaigns with
a split contribution of $3 or whatever you are able to
contribute today.

Thank you for your support and faith in our movement,
John.

In solidarity,

Pramila Jayapal
