On January 15, Rep. Betty McCollum introduced H.R. 5598, a bill entitled “The Boundary Waters Wilderness Protection and Pollution Prevention Act” in the U.S. House of Representatives. Her bill would permanently remove the threat of sulfide-ore mining in the watershed and establish the protections needed to keep these national treasures - the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Voyageurs National Park pristine for all generations to come. We are thankful for the leadership demonstrated by Rep. McCollum, and for her commitment to protecting the Boundary Waters.
Tomorrow, the House Natural Resources Committee will hold a hearing on the bill at 9:00 A.M. CST. The Committee will be live streaming the bill hearing on their Committee YouTube page and on their committee Facebook page. Will you join us online tomorrow?
