Join in the fun and participate in first Nebraska Bird Bowl

May is Nebraska Bird Month and you can join in all the birding fun by participating in the first ever Nebraska Birding Bowl!

This free, statewide event is for all skill levels and all ages. You could win prizes just for participating!

Gather your friends and family and choose a category that fits your birding interest. Categories include:

* Fledgling Flock ? For youth group leaders who want to introduce kiddos to birding (e.g., afterschool, scouts, camps).
* Backyard Birder ? For people who enjoy watching birds from their home.
* Dabbling Birder ? For beginning to casual birders.
* Competitive Birder ? For experienced birders who'd like to compete for the most observed bird species.

Next, register your team online, head outside, and start documenting any birds you see or hear in eBird [ [link removed] ]. Documenting the birds you observe through eBird is a great and easy way to contribute data towards bird science and conservation.

Don?t worry if you are unfamiliar with eBird; we will walk you through how to use it in a webinar [ [link removed] ] and a step-by-step guide [ [link removed] ] on the Birding Bowl website.

Registered teams that complete the category requirements have a chance to win some incredible prizes from bird feeders to binoculars and cash prizes.

Register today to participate, and start your birding journey this month!
