John – it's nearly summertime and unfortunately, my campaign is still paying down the bills we accrued to win in November.

You see, in the days before Election Day, pundits moved our race to a toss-up, and I was getting calls from other Senators concerned that we couldn’t win. 

Polls were tightening and the GOP was shoveling money into New Hampshire to defeat us. 

We had to take on debt to fund our response. The good news is that it worked, and we won.

Those outstanding bills make emails like this one extremely important.
