Manning Leads the Charge to Reaffirm the FDA's Authority to Approve Medication Abortion
Congresswoman Manning, alongside her colleauge Congresswoman Yadira Caraveo, introduced legislation clarifying that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has the authority to approve medications for abortion care.
Congresswoman Manning introduced this resolution in response to the recent decision by a federal judge in Texas to revoke FDA approval of mifepristone, a medication used in medication abortion and for miscarriage management.
The case made its way to the Supreme Court, where they ruled that mifepristone would remain available while the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals hears the underlying case.

Manning, Education & Workforce Committee Leaders Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Expand Apprenticeships
Congresswoman Manning, member of the House Education and Workforce Committee and Chair of the New Democrat Coalition Task Force on Workforce Development, joined a bipartisan group of members in introducing the National Apprenticeship Act of 2023.
The proposed legislation would create nearly 1 million new apprenticeship opportunities through Registered Apprenticeships (RAs), youth apprenticeships, and pre-apprenticeship programs.
The proposed legislation would also yield $10.6 billion in net benefits to U.S. taxpayers through increased worker productivity and decreased spending on public-assistance programs and unemployment insurance.

Supporting Ukraine and Holding Russia Accountable
Congresswoman Manning, Vice Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, attended a committee hearing where Prosecutor General Kostin of Ukraine testified about the brutal war crimes being committed by Russian forces in Ukraine.
Congresswoman Manning is committed to ensuring the United States continues to support Ukraine as they defend their democracy and hold Russia accountable for committing war crimes.

Subcommittee Hearing on Lowering Health Care Costs
Congresswoman Manning, a member of the Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Subcommittee, attended the Subcommittee's hearing on lowering health care costs for hardworking Americans.
At the hearing, Congresswoman Manning shared her family's experience with the exorbitant cost of medications and discussed ways that Congress can work to lower the cost of prescription drugs and health care for all.
