Dear John, The
application opens on Tuesday, May 2nd and applications are due Tuesday, May 30.
Please help us share this opportunity with your community, organization, social media followers, and networks!
The cohort will take place June 2023 - March 2024 and each artist project will receive $2000-$7,800, depending on the scope of the project they develop during the program.
Creative Wildfire is a cultural organizing project of New Economy Coalition, Movement Generation, and Climate Justice Alliance. Remember the rad art that came out of the last cohort?
This year we'll bring together artists and grassroots organizations to center relationship building, artistic collaboration, and locally impactful distribution. Their creations will inspire us to resist extractive systems and build regenerative economies where all can thrive.
Seven artists will be matched with grassroots organizations working for climate and economic justice: Boston Ujima Project, Cooperation New Orleans, Crip Survival Network, Food For the Spirit, Micronesia Climate Change Alliance, Richmond Our Power Coalition and The Farmworker Association of Florida. We especially welcome BIPOC and disabled artists, as well as artists living in regions where our organizational partners are based: Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; Micronesia; New Orleans, LA; Florida; and Richmond, CA.
