Jen was faced with every parent’s worst nightmare when her son, Jack, was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer at just 5 years old. A mother of 3, she took on a new role as caregiver to Jack throughout his cancer journey. This helped Jen and her family discover a newfound commitment to supporting the cancer community.
"The hardest thing as a parent is to see your child suffer, not be able to provide comfort or know what they need to get better," Jen said. "That’s why it’s important to help others going through it."

To provide this help, the Hoeger family started the I Know Jack Foundation to give hope, comfort, and support in one's journey to beat cancer. Because "if you don't fight cancer, you don't know Jack!" Its signature "Jack Pack" backpacks are filled with comfort items, a Livestrong Guidebook, grocery discounts, and more to help patients through treatment.
"As a mother and caregiver, I always want Jack to be happy, healthy, and safe," Jen says of her son, now in remission. "I am so grateful to share his story and help other cancer survivors through their journey."
